The headline quote above comes from my friend, Arlo Guthrie, the now-retired folk singer. For more than three decades, through his nonprofit Guthrie Center, Arlo has built a legacy of tolerance and service. It’s in the church that was featured in the movie “Alice’s Restaurant” way back in 1969 (appropriate because Thanksgiving is coming). He bought the church in 1994. His grandson, Shivadas “Mo” Guthrie, now runs the center in Housatonic, Mass.
