POSITIVE VIBES: The positivity of the Olympics

Every two years, the world comes together for the Olympics. For the most part, I consider this a very positive event.

Sure, there are some negatives: the cost of building the infrastructure to host the Olympics, the fact that some countries have had dubious labor practices when building this infrastructure, and doping and drone scandals. Russia’s presence is limited, which is a shame for the athletes, most of whom appear to be against the war in Ukraine. There also was the pagan dinner performance that seemed to anger a lot of people. I’m sure there’s been a bunch of negative stuff going on that I have no inkling about. But there is still a lot to like about the world coming together to compete as much of the rest of the world watches. This can certainly be a uniting event, and the world could use some uniting.

There are 202 countries represented at the Olympics. North Korea is back this year. There will be 394 gold medals awarded........
