These days, society feels more divided than ever. This division is exacerbated by algorithm-driven social media that creates echo chambers, reinforcing our own views and making us believe that opposing perspectives are not just wrong, but sometimes even crazy.

The era of “that’s the way it is” news, delivered by Walter Cronkite, where the facts were presented and viewers could form their own opinions, is gone. Today, the news media often leans — sometimes heavily — either to the left or right, inundating us with content that preaches to the choir rather than informs. We live in a world of “alternative facts,” and this is especially evident as a national election approaches. Social media is filled with messages of “our side is great, your side is nuts,” making it challenging to have any meaningful conversations.
