I’ve heard people complain, “Christmas is just too commercial,” and I don’t disagree with that view. But, that said, and being a positive kind of guy, I’m going to write about the positivity of this commercialization.

Sure, the Christmas season has become really commercialized. Way back when I was a kid (when the world was still literally black and white, at least on TV), you didn’t see Christmas ads or decorations until after Thanksgiving. Heck, these days Hallmark even has a Christmas in July! Now, the ads and the sales start in October. Black Friday is like a month long. It’s not going away, so we might as well make the best of it.

Christmas shopping makes a substantial contribution to the economy. The holiday season stimulates consumer spending, creating jobs and boosting businesses. From retail workers to small businesses, many people rely on the holiday season to prop up their bank accounts. This extra income can help support families and communities, making Christmas a period of prosperity for many.
