FAITH PERSPECTIVES: Reflections on wisdom

As I read and prayed about the readings for this column, I kept thinking about wisdom. I heard on the radio songs about being wise, one being, ”Wise men say only fools rush in.”

I had a talk with a friend, and he asked if I would pray for him to discern what to do in transition. I prayed that he would get a good dose of wisdom. As I get older, I hope I become more wise. I believe that babies come into this world being wise and it is the world that makes them forget things.

And, don’t forget the Serenity Prayer. “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change. Courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.”
