There are so many good, locally produced ice cream spots in the Finger Lakes, and my diet keeps me from going on a mad tour of them all.
Spotted Duck Creamery, of course, and Seneca Farms get lots of attention, but have you ever tried Shtayburne Farm Creamery? It’s down on Chase Road in Rock Stream — closer to Watkins than to Geneva. It is a dairy farm, and they serve killer ice cream and darn good cheese too.
This isn’t an official endorsement or intended advertisement, just an enthusiastic customer giving a shout-out for tourist-worthy ice cream in the midst of our already well-known alcohol tourism. I do not consume alcohol and have only visited a couple wineries for food and a view, but I will drive 15 miles and more to open my mouth for ice cream.
