Fears 720 home development bid could undermine town bypass |
Plans reveal the east side of the Beccles and Worlingham Garden Neighbourhood would be accessed by two junctions off the A145 relief road with a reduced 40 mph speed limit for the length of the development.
There are fears that a speed reduction would undermine the purpose of the relief road by encouraging traffic through Beccles.
A statement from Shadingfield, Sotterly, Willingham and Ellough Joint Parish Council said: "The purpose of the relief road was to take traffic away from Beccles town centre and the rural roads,........
