But I think it’s more positive to look forward and to focus our hopes on how next year can be bolder, brighter and better than this one.
I’m lucky in having had an extremely happy 2025, I hope many of you can say the same.
But it’s been a challenging year for many, and I have several close friends who can’t wait to see the back of it.
Now you may be surprised to learn I’m not going to encourage you to make New Year resolutions.
This is because we tend to make them about relinquishing habits which we know are bad for us – but which we also feel we need or enjoy. Generally, such aims are doomed to failure because our heart isn’t in them.
So instead, let’s add elements to how we live which will lift our spirits and stimulate us so that our lives become healthier, more congenial and interesting.
To make this work, we need to give free rein to our imaginations.
I’m sure you have secret desires you yearn to turn into reality so do give this some thought.
You’re the expert on you, after all. But I’m going to make a few suggestions that might help.
