Layton Blaize, 20, of Eastwood Old Road, Leigh-on-Sea in Essex, was also wanted in connection with an incident on the Greenstead Estate in Colchester on April 8 when a man in his 20s was assaulted.

The victim suffered a stab wound to his leg and was taken to hospital.

Detectives had released images of two men over the attack.

Blaize is charged with GBH with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and failing to appear at court.

He did not enter pleas to any of the charges and was remanded to prison until an appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on May 20.

Nicola Lamb, prosecuting, said he was accused of “very serious offences “ including a “significant role” in drug supply that carried a starting point of four and half years in prison.
