It was alleged that between July 2019 and July 2024, he acted dishonestly and to make financial gains for himself by abusing being appointed to make decisions, including the management of finances, on a woman's behalf.
He has been accused of transferring money and failing to safeguard the financial interests of the woman in order to make a personal gain.
Prosecutor Simon Jessop alleged that the amount of money involved was between £35,000 and £50,000.
Brinded, of Wren Close in Norwich, pleaded not guilty.
District Judge Matthew Bone said the sentencing starting point of three years in prison for the offence and financial background to the case made it too complicated to be heard before magistrates.
He committed the case to be heard at Norwich Crown Court with a preliminary hearing set for May 19.
Brinded was given unconditional bail until that date.
