Jon Hannon, 37, has been made subject to bail conditions that prevent him from entering Prince of Wales Road, Rose Lane and Tombland between 9pm and 5am.

Appearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court he pleaded not guilty to assault by beating a woman on July 19 last summer.

But Hannon, of Wellesley Road in Great Yarmouth, admitted a separate charge of failing to comply with police officers who issued him with a dispersal notice following an altercation in Tombland on the same date.

A dispersal order gives police the power to direct people to leave a specific area and not return for a period of time. He will stand trial for the alleged assault on July 25.

Until that date, he was granted bail with conditions that also include not to visit the address of the alleged victim or to contact two people said to have witnessed the incident and due to give evidence in the trial.
