Villagers left in shock after man burnt to death following row with neighbour

The horrific scenes unfolded outside their neighbouring homes in the seaside village of Walcott on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the properties off Ostend Road after three separate reports of a dispute and they found a man in his 70s with serious burns from a fire.

He was said to have gone to another neighbour's property for help and was later taken to the hospital for treatment, but died in the early hours of Monday.

Police believe the fire was started deliberately in the doorway of the victim's property, and have arrested a neighbour - a man in his 40s - on suspicion of murder.

The victim has been named by neighbours in the village as Bob and was said to have sold potatoes in a lay-by outside Hoveton.
