Medical student to be sentenced for killing man just given cancer all-clear

Moses Fernandes, 22, had been due to go on trial at Norwich Crown Court this week charged with murdering Terry McFadyen, at the property in Layer Close, Bowthorpe, last November.

However, on Monday it emerged that the crown had accepted an earlier plea by Fernandes - which he entered in April - to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility, in the light of medical evidence.

Judge Anthony Bate adjourned sentencing until September 24 pending further reports.
