Neil Donkin was initially charged with attempted murder following an incident at Elizabeth Close, Hunstanton, where a man in his 40s received life-threatening injuries.

He is believed to have been stabbed in the throat in the attack, which happened at about 4.45pm on August 22 last year, and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn before being transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Donkin, of Saddlebow Road, Lynn, denied attempted murder but admitted wounding with intent.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article and was due to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court in March.

She said: "I can't fairly sentence unless I know how serious it is."

The judge said she hoped after this latest hearing a sentencing date can be fixed.
