Man accused of luring former UEA student into corridor before murderous knife attack |
Ucheena Okirie, 33, a Nigerian national who was also known as Uche, died from a single stab wound following an attack in shared student accommodation at Somerleyton House, off Unthank Road in Norwich.

Benjamin Katabana, 28, has gone on trial at Norwich Crown Court accused of the murder of Mr Okirie, a former post-graduate student at the University of East Anglia's School of International Development.

Opening the crown's case on Monday, Andrew Jackson, prosecuting, said it appeared Mr Okirie had been attacked by Katabana following an argument between the two men which appeared to be "over money".

He said the pair were known to each other but by November 2025 "didn't appear to be getting on with each other".
The prosecutor said on November 22 last year at just after 5am Katabana, a Congolese national, made "repeated demands" for Mr Okirie to go out into the corridor and meet........
