Bus driver loses job after Norwich crash in which cyclist was seriously hurt |
Justin Chatfield had been driving the number 21 First bus on the B1108 when it was involved in the crash at the junction near the Spire Hospital, on the outskirts of Norwich.
The bus had been travelling towards the city but was turning left onto the Old Watton Road towards the hospital, for a stop.
The cyclist was heading away from the city and turning right onto the Old Watton Road.
Norwich Crown Court heard that as he made his turn, the bus driver was required to give way to traffic from the right but pulled out in front of the cyclist, causing him to take evading action and hitting an oncoming Mini.
