A letter from 31 MPs from the All Party Parliamentary Group for the East has been sent to Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander and Chief Secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones.

They have been joined by council leaders and prominent business figureheads to back the call. In total there are 66 signatories to the letter.

They are calling on Government to commit in this Spending Review to provide Network Rail with the funds to develop the Full Business Case for the Ely Area Capacity Enhancements, so it can be delivered as soon as possible.
