Waste crime plight raised in parliament after farmer left with £250k clean-up bill |
Terry Jermy, MP for South West Norfolk, speaking in parliament on Monday, said about 250 bales of DIY waste were dumped on a rural farm in his constituency recently, which cost huge sums of money to remove.
Following the incident, he asked crime, policing and fire minister Sarah Jones what is being done to address the issue during questions in the House of Commons.

Mr Jermy said: "Waste crime is increasingly a concern in rural areas and often has links to organised and serious crime.
"Can the minister confirm what more the department could do to help tackle waste crime in rural areas."
