Police under fresh scrutiny after teen suffers horrific injuries near seafront |
Police had responded to a reported melee involving a large number of teenagers and youths in the Upper Esplanade and Kirkley Cliff Road areas of south Lowestoft.
It saw 15-year-old Rocco Kirkpatrick's chin impaled on some railings while he was being restrained, leading to extensive surgery for a serious facial injury.

The incident happened about 40 minutes after the main beach entertainment had finished on the opening day of the First Light Festival on June 21 last year.
An independent review was launched earlier this year as the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) reviewed Suffolk Police's handling of the family's complaint.
Now the IOPC has formally directed Suffolk Police to reinvestigate officers and to look into the incident again.
