New antiques and interiors store set to open in town

A new antiques and interiors store will soon be opening its doors on an industrial estate in a seaside town.

The grand opening of Lockey & Beare Antiques will take centre stage in Lowestoft on April 1, with the new business open to the public from 10am to 5pm.

Situated at Unit 4 Harvest Drive on the south Lowestoft industrial estate in Pakefield, antique aficionados are being encouraged to step through the store's doors and "leave the modern world behind".

The new venture is being run by Bradley Lockey and Oliver Beare.

They are joined by Mr Beare's fiancée, Karina Posada, in running the business along with an in-house valuer in antique silver and jewellery, who has 30 years experience in the industry.

The owners said: "Lockey & Beare Antiques/Interiors will soon be open for you to explore a carefully curated collection of the past."

As specialists in antique furniture, decorative pieces, vintage and retro finds they source "quality items with history and charm," while also offering shop/house and garage/shed clearances.

Ahead of the official opening, Mr Beare said: "I've had a passion for collecting antiques and unusual items for many years and am now about to turn my hobby into a full-time job.

"Both myself and Bradley have been collecting antiques, vintage and interesting items for over 10 years, we've now decided to turn our hobby into a successful business.

"We buy and sell antique/vintage furniture and decorative and reclaimed pieces, along with vintage and retro finds.

"The public are more than welcome to bring items to the shop for us to look at and purchase."

It will open from 10am to 5pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday's.

They will also be selling items online.

Ahead of opening the team were kept busy last week planting Cordyline Australis "to complete the front of the unit".
