The scheme, which began two weeks ago in south Lowestoft, will see 2.9 miles of ageing gas mains replaced with modern infrastructure as part of works expected to last until July next year.

The works are being carried out in a series of phases across the Kirkley and Pakefield areas by Cadent - the UK’s largest gas distribution network - as part of its wider investment in the East of England.

Disruption is expected with the works set to take place in phases across more than 25 roads.
