Initial patrols will be carried out by the RNLI lifeguards on the south beach at Lowestoft, and north beach at Southwold between 10am and 6pm until Sunday, September 6.

Patrolled beach services will then also be carried out on the north beach at Lowestoft and south beach at Southwold for the summer season, starting from July 11.

Ahead of that, the team was out in the sunny conditions in Lowestoft on Friday (May 22) as part of their training preparations.

RNLI lead lifeguard supervisor, Ted Morgan, said: "After completing their pre‑season training, our lifeguards are ready and excited to return to the beach.

"This year marks 25 years of the RNLI lifeguard service, and we’re encouraging everyone to swim between the red and yellow flags so they can enjoy the coast safely."
