'Happy and calm' primary school praised by Ofsted inspectors

Pakefield Primary School in Lowestoft, part of Active Learning Trust, has been praised for its work supporting families who have children struggling to come to school and for its high levels of pupil attendance.

It was the first inspection to be carried under Ofsted's new report card framework.

Schools are no longer given one-word judgements under the new inspection framework, which has been in use since November 2025.

It uses a five-point scale to grade schools across several areas from exceptional - the highest grade - to urgent improvement - the lowest grade.
