Prosecutors consider charges over cement lorry crash which killed woman
Area coroner Robin Weyell heard that Laura Akinnurun-Sharpe, 46, died on after the car she was driving was involved in a crash with he concrete mixer vehicle in Brampton, Norfolk.
A pre-inquest review at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on March 27 was told proceedings cannot progress at this stage as a decision from the Crown Prosecution Service is still outstanding.
The case was formally adjourned, with a further pre-review hearing scheduled for August 14, 2026.

Emergency services were called to Buxton Road in Brampton following the crash involving Ms Akinnurun-Sharpe’s car and a cement lorry on March, 24, last year.
She died as a result of her injuries.
A woman in her 70s, who was a passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Norfolk Police previously confirmed that the driver of the lorry, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation.

In a tribute issued after her death, Ms Akinnurun-Sharpe’s family described her as an “amazing mother, daughter, wife, sister and friend”.
They said she was a “beautiful soul” who would be “sorely missed by her family and all who knew her”.
