Norfolk farmland in firing line as mega solar farm plan draws closer

The proposed Droves Solar Farm would stretch across around 2,800 acres of countryside between Swaffham and Castle Acre - an area equivalent to 1,500 football pitches.

If approved, the development by energy firm Island Green Power would rank among the largest solar farms in the UK.

Because of its sheer scale, the project will not be decided by local councillors.
