Norfolk council calls in lawyers over £10,000 charity pledge saga |
Attleborough Town Council has taken the step to seek independent legal advice over the original settlement it reached with Taila Taylor, one its members, in 2021, and how it had been imposed since.
That year, Ms Taylor, who is also a Breckland councillor, received £20,000 from the Attleborough authority after a judge ruled she had been unlawfully removed from its committee roles.

The settlement included a clause that half this amount should go to a local charity, subject to the council complying with the agreement.
Ms Taylor has declined to clarify whether she has made such a donation but has said that the authority has failed to fulfil its own obligations under the settlement, by leaving defamatory material online and removing a required public apology from its website.
