New housing estate 'could leave countryside overflowing' with sewage'

Plans for five single-storey bungalows on farmland north of Docking have been deferred after a West Norfolk planning meeting which was dominated by fears of sewage capacity and flooding.

Following objections from Anglian Water, councillors repeatedly raised concerns about whether the village’s ageing drain network could cope with the new homes.

Pallavi Devulapalli, an independent councillor, said she could not support new homes where the infrastructure “just doesn’t exist”, warning the impact would be “devastating on the entire village”.
