It comes after an incident on March 13, when road officers spotted a Surron electric motorbike being ridden illegally by two balaclava-clad men in Bignold Road.
Officers approached them at a Tesco petrol station forecourt, but Murphy mounted the bike and accelerated directly towards the police car.
The biker then crashed into the vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot, sparking a foot chase.
Officers tracked down Murphy and zapped him with a taser when he ignored warnings and was seen reaching into his waistband.
While he was being arrested, the teenager was found to have a machete around two feet long.
In bodycam footage of the encounter, the arresting officer can be heard saying: "I am sick to death with idiots like you, walking around with knives like that."

Inspector Will Drummond, from the Roads and Armed Policing Team, said: "Carrying a knife puts everyone at risk, including the person holding it.
"We’re out every day working to remove weapons, just like this, from our streets.
"Murphy was carrying a knife that was capable of inflicting serious harm.
"Our message is clear: there is no safe situation to carry a knife.
"We will continue to take action against those who do, and we urge young people to think twice before picking up a blade."
A 16-year-old boy who was with Murphy was also found to be carrying a machete.
He was sentenced to a nine-month youth referral order.
