Three friends open new café nestled in the grounds of Norfolk estate

Flora, which is hidden away in the gardens at Hoveton Hall, started serving customers on Mother's Day after the new owners spent six months transforming the space into their dream business.

It is run by Laura Sides, Kim Johnstone and Emily Cook, who came together to "create a positive and supportive environment" where they can sell their freshly baked goods.

"We all have varying experiences in hospitality around the world and have such a passion for it, so we have decided to come together and create something different," Ms Sides said.

"Our food concept is simple, seasonal and ingredient-led, with every aim to be people and planet-friendly and our new space is very calm and feminine."

The menu features ingredients from numerous local suppliers, such as organic wholemeal flour from Maple Farm in Saxmundham, which they use for the homemade pastry and scones.

They also use produce grown at Hoveton Hall, including the lemon verbena, herbs, wild garlic, and strawberries from the courtyard.

Flora serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, which includes bacon rolls with homemade milk bread buns, focaccia sandwiches, soups, crudites with vegetables, house pickles and dips, Turkish eggs and more.

A full counter of freshly baked cakes, scones, sausage rolls and quiche is also on display at the counter.

The café opens six days a week, from 10am to 4pm, with Saturdays being the team's day off.

Since opening, it has got off to a successful start with a line of customers queuing out of the door for four and a half hours straight on the first day.

"In the summer, we will be hosting 'Summer Lates' in which we will offer an evening menu for people to enjoy in our beautiful courtyardm" Ms Sides added.
