State of Disarray has been trading at festivals, including Glastonbury, for 15 years.

Ms Green designs all the clothes, which are then tailor-made in Vietnam, and her partner Dan makes all of the jewellery.

She said, "Our philosophy is if it feels good, wear it.

"We are an independent brand that wants to offer an uplifting and empowering shopping experience.

"Our clothes are beautifully bonkers.

"We have everything from glittery tops, trousers, bikini tops and accessories.

"The store will be open this week, but we are still refurbishing the space, so next week we will host an official launch.

"On the launch day, I would like to collaborate with the Vine, the Thai pub opposite us, so customers can enjoy a drink."

Ms Green used to run a clothing stall with her best friend on Guildhall Hill more than 20 years ago.

She set up her business, State of Disarray, after her friend moved back to her hometown in Newbury.

She said: "I have always run my own businesses.

"I studied textiles at Goldsmiths, University of London and self-taught fashion before going travelling.

"This year, we will be at festivals including Shambala, Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party.

"The last eight months have been really tough, having lost two siblings.

"I want to show people you shouldn't give up.

"Opening the shop is a way for me to get back into the community and connect with people."

Ms Green has signed a seven-month lease for the city centre site.
