Justin Attwell, who runs Harlequin Fancy Dress, in Westlegate, said he had been selling out of costumes.
“The response we have had from customers has been amazing. We sold out of certain costumes in the days leading up to Halloween," he said.
“So many people have said they are loving having a proper party shop back in the city.
“It’s nostalgic for people. The city has been missing a party shop for a while.........
