Landlady who ‘put world to rights’ dies aged 96

A coroner has formally opened an inquest into the death of Mary Allday following her death on November 11 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The court heard Ms Allday was a retired landlady and had been born in King’s Lynn on January 14, 1929.

She had been living at Lower Farm Nursing Home in South Wootton.
