Colin Tooke, of Estcourt Road, Great Yarmouth, wrote more than 30 books on the town, as well as Caister and Gorleston.
He spent 50 years of his life giving hundreds of talks and amassing a unique collection of thousands of photographs of Yarmouth and its surrounding villages.
He also worked for 35 years as a telephone engineer........
