Inquest opens for man hit by car while helping friend stranded on A11

Ryan Balls died on the afternoon of September 7 following the accident on the northbound carriageway near Besthorpe, where he had gone to assist his friend.

The 37-year-old ran a recovery service as part of his firm, RB Auto Repairs.

Earlier in the day he had been visiting Snetterton recycling centre when he received a call from a friend, who said they had broken down on the A11 between Besthorpe and Spooner Row.
