East Suffolk councillor Peter Byatt, who represents Kirkley and Pakefield, tabled a motion to an East Suffolk Council meeting on Wednesday (November 26) asking how many call outs there had been to deal with rats in the district, where the incidents were and the cost of dealing with them.

He also asked what additional methods should be used to eliminate "this environmental menace".
