Woman speaks of ‘heartbreak’ as coastal homes face demolition

Pascal Rose, 52, owns one of seven houses on The Marrams in Hemsby which Great Yarmouth Borough Council plans to demolish because of severe coastal erosion.

Hemsby has been part of Ms Rose’s life for more than 40 years, after her grandparents owned a chalet in the village.

She said: “Since I was knee-high, I always knew I was going to buy a house on The Marrams.”

Despite knowing her home will soon be knocked down, Ms Rose said she does not regret buying it.
