MP raises Sheringham bus shelter saga in Commons (and puts council on naughty list) |
North Norfolk MP Steffan Aquarone raised the issue, which saw the county council's plans for a new traffic hub in the town scrapped after protesters occupied the 1950s shelter which was due to be demolished, in Parliament on Thursday (December 18).
The Liberal Democrat MP had backed the protest, which resulted in Sheringham Town Council - the owner of the Station Approach land the bus shelter is on - blocking County Hall's plans to knock it down and build a new, modern, shelter.
