First trees planted for new public woodland near Norfolk village |
The new woodland, which will eventually contain some 40,000 trees, is being created on almost 40 acres of farmland near Wiggenhall St Germans, in the west of the county.
Pupils from St Germans Academy helped to plant the first trees on the Norfolk County Council-owned land to coincide with National Tree Week.
The woodland is being created using a grant from the England Woodland Creation Offer, a scheme managed by the Forestry Commission.
