Young farmers' new dog show will put beloved pets to the test at the showground
Norfolk Young Farmers' Club (YFC) is running its first-ever charity dog show at the Norfolk Showground on Sunday, April 19.
Dog owners can bring their pets on the day and register them in 23 competition classes across two show rings, as well as dog agility contests.
As well as traditional working dog classes, there are also fun categories including Most Handsome Dog, Waggiest Tail, Dog Most Like its Owner, Scruffiest Dog and Best Trick.
The family day also includes a barbecue, bar, bouncy castle, children’s area and face painting.
Hannah Howell, Norfolk YFC's socials and marketing chairman, said the event was part of an effort to refresh and diversify the club's social and fundraising events.
"We are trying to change up what we are doing, both for what our membership wants and to open it up to the public a lot more," she said.
"This is a family fun day as well as a dog show, so we hope people will come in and enjoy themselves, and maybe find out a bit more about what young farmers do."

And in a joint statement with Norfolk YFC county chairman Tom Fraser, they added: "Beyond the light-hearted competition, the purpose of the event is deeply meaningful.
"Funds raised will go directly toward supporting young farmers, helping them access training, resources and opportunities that are increasingly difficult to secure.
"With rising costs and ongoing challenges in the agricultural sector, initiatives like this play a crucial role in ensuring that the next generation of young farmers' clubs can continue to thrive.
"We hope the charity dog show will not only raise money but also awareness about the importance of investing in young people within farming communities."
Access to the event will be via the White Gate, at the south-west corner of the showground. What3Words location is revived.topping.windmill. Gates open at 10:30am, with the first competitions starting at 11:15am.
