The return of the virus this autumn has forced the cull of farmed birds including thousands of Christmas turkeys - with seven confirmed cases in Norfolk, and a further five in Suffolk since the end of October.
It sparked calls from farming leaders for faster progress on removing the regulatory obstacles to the roll-out of vaccines to protect poultry flocks.
