Norfolk is at the top of the tree in farmland bird count - for seventh year running
The 2025 Big Farmland Bird Count (BFBC), run by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT), encourages farmers and landowners to count the species and number of birds on their land during a two-week window in February.
This year, a total of 358,913 birds, belonging to 125 species, were recorded across almost 700,000 acres of farmland.
Norfolk retained its customary place at the top of the table, registering 134 counts - almost 10pc of the national total of 1,369 - with Suffolk in second place with 101 counts.
