New law introduces unlimited fines for dog attacks on farm animals |
Police now have greater powers to deal with livestock worrying and can investigate incidents more effectively under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) (Amendment) Act 2025.
The new laws have removed the previous £1,000 cap on fines for people who own or are in charge of a dog which attacks or chases livestock on agricultural land.
