Bidders battle for traditional turkeys at Christmas poultry sales

Turkeys, geese, chickens and ducks from East Anglian farms went under the hammer in sales across the region.

Auctioneers had anticipated fewer entries this year due to the "shadow" of bird flu - the devastating virus which has taken a heavy toll on the region's poultry farms in recent weeks, with thousands of turkeys culled in the run-up to the busy festive season.

But at Key's Christmas Poultry Sale in Aylsham, the entry was........
