Why businesses are being urged to join a free energy supply chain database |
The GENERATE Supply Chain platform has been created to showcase the strength, depth and diversity of the East of England’s energy capabilities to investors, developers, OEMs, Tier 1 contractors and government agencies.
From offshore wind and oil & gas to nuclear, grid infrastructure and decommissioning, the platform provides a powerful, evidence-based tool to demonstrate what the region can deliver.
Developed by GENERATE, in collaboration with the Suffolk Chamber, the database allows businesses to register their products, services and sector accreditations using detailed classifications across key energy sectors.
But simply being listed is no longer enough. Companies are now being encouraged not only to sign up for free, but also to log in and actively enhance their entry.
That means clearly setting out your capabilities, adding a compelling description of your business and uploading evidence of your credentials, including ISO certifications, sector accreditations and memberships of organisations including EEEGR and EastWind.

Ian Pease, GENERATE’s business development manager, said: “When developers or international investors ask, ‘What does the region’s supply chain look like?’, GENERATE Supply Chain provides the answer at the press of a button.
“A strong, fully populated database helps demonstrate that the East of England is ready to support major energy projects now, and in the decades ahead.”
If your business is already registered on the Suffolk Supply Chain or Sizewell C Supply Chain portals, your entry has been automatically ported across – but it is vital that you log in, review and update your profile to ensure it accurately reflects your full capabilities by ticking additional classifications.
Ian added: “This is about more than a database. It’s about collectively demonstrating the East of England capability, identifying gaps to attract targeted inward investment, and ensuring local businesses are front and centre when opportunities arise.”
