On Monday evening, a 12 A-10C Thunderbolt II was seen arriving at RAF Lakenheath with another plane expected on Tuesday night.

This was after speculation that they were heading towards the Middle East to participate in US operations over Iran.

During the landing, the special viewing area by the perimeter fence of the airbase was full of plane enthusiasts.

This aircraft is designed to support ground forces in combat, with a GAU-8/A Avenger cannon, a seven‑barrel Gatling gun built into the aircraft's nose, which can fire up to 3,900 rounds per minute.

On the markings of the tail of the aircraft, it seems that they were from the Michigan Air National Guard.
