Bell ringer who rang for Queen's coronation celebrates 80 years in the belfry

Now 80 years later, Herbert Websdell is still pulling the ropes at the ripe old age of 93.

Mr Websdell has also been the tower captain at St Margaret's Church at Starston, near Harleston for half a century.

He said: "I started when I was 13, in 1946 because my mother Mary told me to.

"She said you ought to go and help ring the bells. In those days if your mother said you ought to go and ring the bells, you did."
