Hospitality workers employed by the charity, which runs the Theatre Royal and the Playhouse Theatre in the city centre, had their contracts terminated last week.

Norwich Theatre said the dismissals come as part of an investigation into "extremely serious matters".

A spokeswoman for the theatre said: "This is a hugely disappointing situation for our teams, but it is an action that Norwich Theatre, as a registered charity, had no other option but to take."
