Alex Jenkinson, 39, from Stowmarket, Suffolk, is accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards the former Duke of York during the incident in Wolferton, Norfolk, on May 6.

He is also facing a separate charge relating to a confrontation with another man in King’s Lynn the previous day.

Jenkinson was not let into his hearing due to bringing his dog.

As Jenkinson stood on the pavement outside, his lawyer, Claire Howell, told Judge Ikram: “He has had to bring his dog with him, so he wasn’t allowed inside the court.

“He is homeless........
