Local sonar specialist scores major award for industry impact
GeoAcoustics, headquartered in Great Yarmouth, was founded in 1978. It has had two different corporate owners since then – but today is an independent company with a global reach.
It designs, builds and sells sonar equipment to serve customers all over the world and is committed to continuing to provide the very best technologies and services.
“Our bathymetric sonars, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profilers are designed for professionals to collect vital data below the waves in a variety of environments, from offshore wind farms, ports and harbours to rivers, lakes and reservoirs inland,” said Richard Dowdeswell, chief commercial officer of GeoAcoustics.
The business has stayed afloat in this fast-paced industry by innovating and embracing new technologies, using interferometry for accurate seabed mapping, developing artificial intelligence for faster data processing and creating new applications with form factors designed to optimise performance.
