THE approval of a combined financial package of $940m by ADB and the World Bank should help reinforce Pakistan’s efforts to implement SOE reforms, strengthen disaster resilience, and add to critical water and sanitation infrastructure. The money will go to Sindh and Punjab, and the National Highway Authority — one of the largest SOEs — to strengthen institutional capacity and financial sustainability.
